Learn how to create and customize pattern backdrops with the ProDrop: Volume 7.
STEP 1 - Preparing the Timeline
Let’s begin by locating ProDrop: Volume 7 in the Generators Library. There are numerous presets with different shapes in ProDrop: Volume 7 that you can choose from. For this example we will be using the Abstract 3 preset in the Abstract Section. Drag the generator to your timeline. Select the generator and go to the Inspector Window.
STEP 2 - Pattern Controls
First start by adjusting the environment brightness. Then select a pattern color. Next adjust the thickness and choose the outline colors. After selecting the outline colors continue on by adjusting the extrude amount and extrude color. Click any of the colored squares on the bottom of the color bar. Once you have a colored square selected you can now change the color of the source. There are red, green, and blue sliders along with an opacity slider for each color option so you can get the exact color you want. Underneath you have an interpolation option and a location slider. The location slider will allow you to control the coverage of each color that is present on your shapes. After customizing the extrude color move on to adjusting the Extrude Front and Back Brightness sliders.
STEP 3 - Effect Controls
Next is the Effect Controls. Begin by controlling the speed slider. Then start adjusting the center position. Once you have the preset positioned you can go on to adjusting the rotation and perspective. The perspective slider controls how far in or how far out you will be viewing the animation preset.
Now for some final touches. In the Environment Controls section you can start by adjust the light and shadow color. Next is the shadow distance and shadow angle. Lastly is the background color. The Background color has the same controls as the extrude Color bar except it has a few more controls. After adjusting the location slider you have the option of changing the type of your color between linear and radial. The Linear type will give you a line and the radial type will show a circle which the color generates from. Once you have selected a type you can choose where the color type starts and ends
