How to Install PFS Plugins

Before You Install….

Make sure you have checked the following before you proceed to install your PFS Plugins to ensure a seamless installation experience!

  1. Log into an Administrator account on your computer.
  2. Close Final Cut Pro.
  3. Make sure that you have a stable and secure internet connection. An internet connection is required to install the plugins.
  4. Check that you have enough space to install the plugin on your internal hard drive.
  5. Disconnect external drives.
  6. Temporarily turn off antivirus, firewalls, and Mac Cleaning apps. These kinds of software applications can sometimes cause errors with the installation by blocking the installer from accessing its files from our server and uploading them to your computer.
After you follow all of the above suggestions, proceed to install your PFS plugins 🙂

Important Notes

  • Do not place the entire plugin download/installer in your motion templates folder, the FCPX Contents, or the Applications > Pixel Film Studios > Plugins folder. The installer will place these files for you.
  • If you’re having any trouble with installation, please contact our support team for further assistance. They can help troubleshoot any issue!
Updated Plugins

When a product is updated, you will need to re-download the plugin from your account or the PFS App once more. Please be sure to remove your previous download of the product installer to make sure you aren’t reinstalling an older version. Before re-downloading, you will want to make sure to check the System Requirements on the product page to make sure that you meet the minimum requirements needed to run the plugin. If newer versions of the MacOS or Final Cut Pro are required, you can update these for free in the System Preferences and App Store respectively.
