Learn how to control lovely Valentine backdrops with the ProDrop: Valentine's Lesson from Pixel Film Studios.
STEP 1 - Preparing the Timeline
Let’s begin by locating ProDrop: Valentine’s in the Generator Library. Scan through the presets and choose one that you would like use. For this example we will be using preset 1. Drag the preset to your timeline. Select the preset and go to the Inspector Window.
STEP 2 - Overlay Controls
Now let’s start with the Overlay Controls. First adjust the texture opacity. Next select a flare color and adjust the flare opacity. Once you have the flare looking the way you want it start selecting colors for the hearts and bokeh shapes. You can generate new bokeh and heart shapes by clicking the grey generate button. Control the birth rate as well as opacity of both heart and bokeh shapes. The birth rate slider controls how many shapes emerge from the emitter every second. Now that we have our Overlay Controls set up let’s move down to the Background Controls.
STEP 3 - Background Controls
Begin by selecting a color for the background. Click any of the colored squares on the bottom of the color bar. Once you have a colored square selected you can now change the color of the background. There are red, green, and blue sliders along with an opacity slider for each color option so you can get the exact color you want. Underneath you have an interpolation option and a location slider. The location slider will allow you to control the coverage of each color that is present in your background. Next you have the option of changing the type of your color between linear and radial. The Linear type will give you a line and the radial type will show a circle which the color generates from. After choosing a type you can keyframe where the color type starts and ends.
STEP 4 - Text Controls
Next alter your main title and subtitle text by using the text boxes in the inspector window or by simply clicking on the text in the viewer window. Position the text anywhere on the screen by clicking and dragging the text in the viewer window.
Now for some final touches. In the camera controls section you can control the x,y and z position of the camera as well as rotation. You can also control the Angle of View and Depth of Field. The Angle of View will adjust the perspective of your animation. For example moving the slider to the left will give more depth and by moving the slider to right will move you further into your animation.
