Transition Troubleshooting
When using a transition inside of Final Cut Pro you may run into these two issues. First when you go to drag a transition in between your media clips. You may see a plus sign instead of being given the option to drop the transition. In this case, simply drop the transition between the clips. And you will be asked to trim your media to create the transition. Press create transition and a transition will be created. The second issue is you may not be able to extend the transition. In this case, double click the center of the transition. A view will appear showing you which areas of the video the transition will affect. As you can see these lines cannot be extended because there is no media in these areas to extend into. To fix this issue simply hover over the media clips and click and move them into the transition. You can see the frames the media is being moved in this view. Make sure to move over both clips or the transition will not be able to extend. To extend the transition hover over the end of the centerpiece and extend it to the right. Double click the centerpiece when you are done. Now when we play the transition, it will play for longer
