[DRAFT] How to Install Pixel Film Studios Plugins

Installation Prerequisites

Before installing products there are few prerequisites to be aware of.

  1. Make sure your computer and software meet the minimum requirements, listed on each storepage.
  2. Make sure your Motion Templates folder is setup correctly.
  3. Disconnect external hard drives.
  4. Disable firewall or antivirus software. (this may not be necessary but can solve installation issues for some users)

Manual Installation

You can install products by downloading their individual Installers from the website. A plugin installer can be downloaded up to 5 times with your validation e-mail.

  1. Navigate to the Accounts page on the Pixel Film Studios website
  2. Locate the product you want to install
  3. Click Download
  4. Locate the downloaded .zip file > Open it > Run the installer
  5. Click Begin Installation
  6. Enter you verification email (you can find this under your product on the Accounts page)
  7. Close the Installer

Manual Updates

When a product is updated you will need to re-download the plugin installer from your account page. Please be sure to remove the old installer to ensure that you are installing the most up to date product.

Updated products may also have new requirements, so be sure to check to see if you meet the new minimum software requirements.  

Install Products Using the PFS App

The PFS App let’s you install products at the click of the button.

  1. Open the PFS App
  2. Navigate to the My Products tab.
  3. Look for the product you want to install.
  4. Click Install.

Update Products Using the PFS App

If a product update is available you’ll see a red dot next to the product in the PFS App.

  1. Open the PFS App
  2. Navigate to the My Products tab.
  3. Look for the product you want to update.
  4. Click the … button
  5. Select Update
