Checkerboard on Export
When a checkerboard pattern error appears in either Final Cut Pro or your exports, this is usually because Final Cut Pro cannot locate the media contained within the motion templates. The problem occurs when the Motion Content is stored in the Library and not the In Motion Templates folder option. When the Motion Content is set to In Library, the motion content is drawn from the motion files located and stored directly in your library and not the Motion Content that is stored in your Movies > Motion Templates folder.
To solve this issue, go to the Library’s settings by pressing Control+Command+J and modify Storage Locations. Then change the Motion Content back to the In Motion Templates folder option. Next, restart Final Cut Pro and export your media once again. You may also want to try exporting to your desktop instead if you are using an external hard drive.
If the issue persists please contact customer service.
