Add a Shape

FCPX Icon Mega Pack gives users the option to use icons as they are, or to apply easily customizable shapes to accent them. You can choose between circle or square shapes and can turn off the Face Opacity for an outline only effect. The colors and outline width are also easily adjustable so you can create the perfect icon shape in no time.

 

 

Create Your Animation

You can animate your icon in a variety of unique ways. Adjust the introductory and exit animations of your icon using the parameters in the Animation Controls section. Here you’ll find drop-down options for Position, Rotation and Scale. Plus, sliders to adjust the springiness of your animation. In the Icon Controls section, you can further adjust your animation by setting your animation type to options such as Intro/Through, Through, Freeze-Frame and more. 

 

 

On-Screen Camera Controls

FCPX Icon Mega Pack also features the all-new built-in camera on-screen interface from Pixel Film Studios. Using the camera is simple. Simply click and drag on one of the camera icons located in the top-right corner of the Viewer window to adjust the camera around your icon. You can adjust the position, rotation, and zoom level of the camera in seconds. 

 

 

 

Built-In Tracking

Additionally, if you are applying icons to video footage you may want to track the movement of the underlying footage to have your icon follow it. This can be done quickly thanks to the built-in Track Editor 2 included in this project. Just track your footage and export the data to apply it to your icons with ease.

 

 

Fast-Rendering Motion Blur

To top it all off, you can apply Pixel Film Studios own built-in fast-rendering motion blur to your icon animations to add realism to the introductory and exit animations. The motion blur can be adjusted using a simple slider to increase the amount and renders substantially faster than previous motion blur presets.

Preparing The Timeline

Let’s begin by selecting our media from the FCPX media library. Then Locate ProIcon in the FCPX Generators library. Browse through the variety of Icons that ProIcon offers. Click and drag the generator directly over top of your media and time it accordingly. Select the generator and go to the Inspector Window.

On-Screen Controls

Start by adjusting the adjusting the overall scale, rotation and position. You can make these adjustments in the inspector window or you can control them in the viewer window using the on-screen controls. Click and Drag the outside of the circle to adjust the overall scale. Adjust rotation by clicking and dragging the pin in a circular motion. Lastly Click and drag the center control puck to position the icon.

Icon Controls

Once you have the icon set you can move on to the Icon Controls section. Begin by selecting a color for the icon. After you can adjust the width of the icon’s lines. Lastly select a speed at which your icon will animate. Now that you have your first icon set up, You can add multiple icons to your media to enhance your media.

Where do I find FCPX Icon Mega Pack?

Once the installation is complete, you can find FCPX Icon Mega Pack in the FCPX Titles library.

How do I select which icon I would like to use?

Once you locate ProIcon in the FCPX Titles Library, there should be multiple types of icon to choose from: For example, "Corporate" or "General Use". Select the type of icon you want to use and drag the preset into your timeline. Then, in the controls, scroll down to Icon Controls and select from the Icon Selection dropdown to locate which icon you would like to apply.

 

How do I achieve the animations shown in the product video?

You would find these animation options under the "Animation" Controls for the plugin. They would not be labeled as "fly," "spin," etc like they are in the video, but as Position, Rotation, and Scale. Each control has an X/Y/Z axis options as well that you can combine for more complexity to your animation.

First, select your animation type- Intro, Outro, or Intro/Outro. Please note that if you want to alter the Intro and Outro Animations separately, you will need to use multiple presets. Then combine them into a compound clip after editing is complete.

Then you can create your animation by altering the following controls: Fly would be created with the Position controls. Flip would be created by combining the Position and Rotation controls. Spin would be created with the Rotation controls. Scale would be created through the Scale controls. You can create other custom animations by combining the Position, Rotation, and Scale animation controls.
