TransText Volume 2 contains transition presets designed to work within FCP as drag & drop. FCP users simple select the desired animation preset, and drag it to the timeline, applying it between clips. Drag the transition out to the correct length for appropriate timing.

How do I keep my letterbox format while using this plugin?

.

Transition effects will not adhere to letterbox format film and will require additional steps to maintain the format through the transition. To keep the format you will need to apply two color solid generators to your timeline above where the transition occurs. Using the transform controls in the video inspector window, adjust the "Y Position" of one solid to match the top positioning of the letterbox then adjust the "Y Position" of the second solid to match the bottom positioning of the letterbox.
