Low-Fidelity Effects
The Lo-Fi look became popular in the 1980’s with the release of low-budget, meniscus lens cameras that left heavy vignettes, color distortions, and blurs on their photos. With the 35 customizable presets that come with Pro-Fi from Pixel Film Studios, you can re-create the same looks of these Lo-Fi lens with your footage in Final Cut Pro.
Pro-Fi presets let users Add a Frame
After choosing the Lo-Fi photo grade you like among the Pro-Fi presets, Final Cut Pro users can easily add a film frame to each individual shot. Once the frame is added to the footage. users can then adjust the size, roundness, and softness parameters in the FCP Inspector with the customization controls, changing the looks of each Pro-Fi frame preset.
Control the Lens Blur with Pro-Fi
Film-makers can control the lens blur using the on-screen controls in the FCP viewer with Pro-Fi. Pro-Fi’s on-screen controls let users simply grab one of the handles to adjust the position and size of your blur area. Then use the simple sliders found in Pro-Fi, located in the FCP Inspector to adjust the strength and softness of the area. Pro-Fi’s controls allow this to be done in real-time, without any of the rendering.
