What type of footage is best for FCPX Face Tracker?
.
To get the best results use footage that is 60 fps. You can lower the frame rate of the exported clip later if need. Do not use footage where the subjects face is blurred from moving too quickly or where the face is overlapped by other subjects or objects as this will cause the tracker to lose track of the subject.

How long of a clip can I use with this plugin?
.
FCPX Face Tracker works best with clips that are 1 second to 1 minute or less long for the fastest results. The reason for this is that the longer the clip is, the longer the "export data" time in the track editor can take.
If you have a longer clip, you can cut up the clip into smaller sections to use the Face Tracker, and then compound it together once all clips have had the Face Tracker applied.
What is the best frame to start the tracker on?

The best frame to start the tracker on is one where the subject's face is pointed directly towards the camera.

What can I do if the tracking is losing focus?
.
If the tracking is losing the subject's face stop the track. On a frame where the subject's face is not lining up with the face tracker press the detect face button once more and then click the subject's face in the track editor window. Then, press the forward or backward arrow to begin tracking again until the track is completed. Repeat the process on as many frames as necessary.

How do I remove effects from the tracker that are overlapping another feature such as a hand placed over the subject's eye?
.
You may notice that some effects from the face tracker are on top of another feature if that feature overlaps the face. For example, you have tracked the subject's face and you can see the eye make up placed over the hand while the hand is overlapping the subject's face.
To fix this you want to have a copy of your media directly below that does not have the FCPX Face Tracker effect applied to the clip. The clip above with the FCPX Face Tracker effect placed on it can be compounded. Then, apply a draw mask to the compounded layer and mask out the area that you want to remove from the overlapped area. You may have to key frame the draw masks control points depending on the footage.
